The most important characteristic of the village is the largest village in Jerusalem in terms of area. There are many educational institutions and centers, including Al-Quds University, with 3 churches and a monastery. In addition to the Dajani maternity hospital which was closed in 2014, Tel al-Ful, which the Kingdom of Jordan began building before the Six-Day War, is still under construction, and the work has not been completed.
