Jerusalemite Women
- The first thing that occurs to our minds when we hear the expression “Jerusalemite women” that they were ones who loved Jerusalem, lived in it, and served Bayt Al-Maqdis; they even grew up in it.
- Some of them are the wife of Imran; Mary’s mother, Mary PBUH, and the wife of Prophet Mohammed; Safiyah bint Hayiy bin Akhtab.
The Wife of Imran and Bayt Al-Maqdis
- The mother of Mary was near Bayt Al-Maqdis. She loved the city and Al-Aqsa Mosque so much, to the extent that she pledged what is in her womb for Allah and the service of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Allah gave her Mary, PBUH.
Mary, PBUH
- Virgin Mary, PBUH, is the daughter of Imran and the mother of Jesus.
- Her mother pledged her to serve Al-Aqsa Mosque.
-She grew up in it, and spent her whole life residing in it and serving and taking care of it.
- She stayed in her niche to worship Allah the Almighty.
- She died and was buried near Bayt Al-Maqdis.
Safiyah bint Hayiy bin Akhtab:
- Safiyyah, the wife of Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, visited Al-Aqsa
Mosque and prayed in it. It is said that she climbed Mount Sinai and
prayed on it, and then stood on the edge of the mount and said: “from here, on the Doomsday, people disperse in the directions of Heavenand Hell”.
