Suleiman Al-Qanouni
The Ottoman Sultan, Suleiman Al-Qanouni, ruled Jerusalem City. He renovated its wall, an the Dome of the Rock, which itself took 40 years. He replaced the mosaic on its outer wall with blue tiles and built several monuments in the Old City such as the Spring of Sultan Suleiman.
