Al-Aqsa Mosque is not a sanctuary like the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah and the Sacred Mosque in Mecca, since Al-Haram ( the Sacred ) mosque, was made a sanctum by Ibrahim - peace be upon him, while the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah was made a sanctum by prophet Muhammed - peace be upon him.
