Reason for the name
Called Saladin Mihrab after the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Crusaders, where Saladin ordered the removal of the remains of the Crusaders from it and its renewal.
There is a plaque of inscriptions above the mihrab that shows the Saladin reconstructions.
It is the main mihrab of the tribal mosque, and is located in the central hall of the mosque, which was preserved from destruction despite many earthquakes that hit the region throughout the ages.
The mihrab named Salah al-Din, after the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Crusaders; Salahaddin ordered the removal of the Crusader trash and relics from the mihrab and its renewal.
There is a plaque engraving the ages of salinity over the mihrab.
It’s important to say that the middle hall, which contains the mihrab and the dome, preserved it despite the destruction after the earthquakes that hit in the region throughout the ages.
