Reason for the name
Named after prophet Zachariah, peace be upon him.
Located inside a room, east of the tribal mosque, and can be entered through Al-Aqsa Mosque; the western wall of the room is a door of mihrab.
It is said that this is the mihrab from which Zachariah, peace be upon him, went through to Mary’s chamber.
This is probably the reason for calling it the mihrab of Zachariah.
