The stone mihrab was built in 1061 AH / 1651 AD based on the orders of the prince of Jerusalem Province Yousef Basha the Ottoman.
Al- Shaalan spring terrace is located behind Al-Shaalan spring and that’s how it earned this name, it is to the north- west of the Dome of the Rock. It was built in the Ottoman era
