It was built in honor of the martyrs of the massacre of Sabra and Shatila that took place in Lebanon, and that’s how it got its name. It was transformed into a monument honoring the souls of the Lebanese martyrs. In its southwestern corner, a short cylindrical marble column holds a sign saying: ” whoever is killed unjustly – we have given his heir authority”. The name of the terrace and the history of the massacre were engraved on its wall.

The south-west terrace is located on the southwest side of the mosque and the Dome of the Rock. It has been built in the modern era, in the twentieth century in half a niche built underground from stone and concrete.

It is located on the north-eastern corner of the Dome of the Rock and specifically below the rock bowl to the east. It was built in the twentieth century.
Semi-cylindrical Terrace / Circular Terrace
A semi-cylindrical or circular terrace is located west of Suleiman's chair (Dar al-Hadith) towards the south, northeast of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the eastern corner of the Rock’s Northeastern nave.
