The building contains a mosque, a school, a public place to sit, a dining hall and a military training center, it was an important Islamic center in the city of Jerusalem, with a length of 20 meters and a width of 6 meters.
Saladin stopped him for Muslims since his time, and remained so until the British Mandate of Palestine, so that it considered a center of cultural radiation in Palestine because of its proximity to Alqiama Church, which closed for several years after the 1967 war.
